Week 8: Introduction to Pattern Making & Garment Drafting

 

 To be honest, i forgot to do the week 8th and as long as i rememmber, in week 8th, i do some adjustment for my first look collar and with Ms Melina help in making the collar pattern, i finally achieve the collar look that i want.

Week 14: Introduction to Pattern Drafting & Garment Making

 

In this week 14, after hand sew the sleeve facing part in the inner of the look 2, i completely finished both of my looks, and since i went back to my hometown, i went to do dry clean laundry in Indonesia since my garments kinda look not as white as before. The only thing i need to do left is the final presentation, im just hopin it will go well. Wish me luck...

Weeek 13: Introduction to Pattern Making & Drafting

Last week, i finally fully done with my first look and continue to cut my second look pattern. In this last meet before Christmas holiday, i already started to do my second progress, and im targeting to finished it tomorrow or Wednesday since it is not complicated as my first look. However, while doing both looks, i learned so many things that i should improve:

- Choose the right fabric

- Always remember about the right and wrong side of the fabric

- Its oke to make some mistakes, dont be too panick

- Use good quality pins

- and more...

So far, i already did the panels, the fabric manipulation yokes and tomorrow i will be continuing to do the collar, plackets, the drop sleeve, and the hem. Hopefully i can finish it this week. 

 

Week 12: Introduction to Pattern Making n Drafting

 

Today's class im are continuing my first look. One thing that ms keep saying at the class i how thick my fabric is... actually i know it will be kinda thick but i dont expect it will be that thick. So the lesson is find the right fabric for our garment. I was kinda struggling to make the hidden button placket since my fabric is thick but thanks God ms melina help me to solve it. Although its quiet thick, its still looks good for me since it is firm and sturdy. I also continue to join  the panels, so all i need to do left its just the collar, pockets, and the finishing. Hopefully i can finished my first look earlier than i expected so i can start for the second look this week.

Week 11: Introduction to Pattern Making & Drafting

Today i finally finished my first look after few days of making. I was struggling with the layer of the back but the most confusing part for me is the pocket which is pretty “unique” that made it quite challenging. I also need to make a little adjustment for the sleeve and i need to make sure to always iron the fabrics when i started to do with the actual fabric. Ms Melina also told me to do the back into one piece since when i make it into four pieces make it looked to thick. At the end of the day i started to cut the second look in the calico and hoping i can finish it soon so i can continue with the actual fabric.
