Task 1 (Basic Top): Week 1- Week 4

Week 1 (23/04/2025): 

Our first day of learning abour drapping!! Its quite interesting actually eventhough there’s quite a lot of steps. Basically drapping is like either sculpting or molding but with fabrics. It help us to produce pattern easily since we design it directly into 3D and today we are doing princess line draping. At first, ms melina explain using 1/2 mannequin, also she told us how to put the tape on the mannequin and in total we have 4 panels for doing half side of it. Alot of pinning and also snapping during the process, and if do a little mistake we need to cut again for a new panel (thats what was im doing :”). But however my friends and i can not finished it today since there was no enough time.

 On the next day, i continued to finished the drapping pattern and it turns out quite nice and im very satisfied for my first drapping. All i need to do left is transfer it to mahjong paper and handstich the pattern.

Week 2 (30/04/2025): 

In this week, i start and finished the princes armhole draping. The steps are quite the same with the pricess line but this pattern required a curve line from the middle part of the arm hole to the bust point making a princess armhole line. After cutting all of the pattern turns out my back pattern went a lil bit off but then Ms Melina made a few adjusments, after that i transfer the pattern into Majong Paper. Ms Melina also tought us how to do easing on every curvey part of the pattern so it make us easier to sew.

Week 3 (07/05/2025):

In this 3rd week, I had stomach ache and diarhea, but i manage to do my calico princess arm hole line earlier so i already done with it, and because of the problem that i had this morning and i  have ask for permission to not come to class  but i still ended up coming to do other task which is drawing the final sketch and also technical drawing with sir Jr. But in the class, Ms Melina show us her fabrics collections, and she explain the steps in how to make pattern of the kebaya melayu.

Week 4 (14/05/2025):

Finally in this week, at first i made 2 other pattern for my second and third sample of fabric manipulation, then i started to do my pattern making, by ms melina's bodice which i trace it and also adjust the dart from the technical drawing i made before. At first it was confusing, cause pattern makin always got me "stress" but turns out i can kinda do it(?) with anoushka's book to make the collar inspired by sailor's collar and well ofc with ms melina's help but however i felt that something is off. Well i will do the rest of the pattern first and ask for ms melina to check them later. I only need to make the sleeve and also the cape that starts from the waist pattern, hopefully i can do it earlier, so i can continue other things including finishing my samples.

Week 5 (22/05/2025):

Basically today we got some bad news(?) cus of the model sizing, because most of the models are kaukasion which they often have big hips while all of us using the size for only 36 inch for it, all of us are flustreated especially ms melina and also sir JR, becuase it would've been better to have the measurment and also the fixxed colour first before we do all of it, BUt turns out at the end we are using the same sizing that have been proceed and also i manage to finish the top and also the skirt (only the calico) on friday(23/05/25) so all i need to do next is cutting the actual fabric that we bought on thursday , a day before malaysia asean road close thingy.

Week 6 (28/05/2025):

I thought it will be easy to do the skirt but the reality, it is not :). It took half of a day to do the second layer which i do it like for few hours and at first i almost gave up since im asking for ms melina’s help but she is to busy helping others thats why i asked mr fariq help and thankfully he helped me and give me tips how to do it. And so far, after doing it for more than 3 days (not as i predicted), my skirt is “almost” done which i just need to add more fabric for the last layer since right now still doesnt look complete yet but im very satisfied for the result. Eventhough while doing the last layer i wasn't focus enough so my last layer skirt ends up "different from the other layers which i need to unpicked and redo the layers but it was worth it. When i asked rubini to try the skirt i was so proud of it 🥺 thank you sir Jr and Sir Fariq for the idea.

Week 7 (04/06/2025):

Finally my kebaya is almost fully done, after several things happended during sewing the top, starting from i accidently dirtying the sleeve, the asymetricall front collar look which i need to re do it by unpicking it and more. Now i have to do left is putting lining also hook and eye on the top since after discussing with sir JR and Ms Melina i need to put "lidah" on my kebaya. And after putting the top and also the buttom onto the manequin, it looks nice but also something missing, so sir JR adviced me to add lace on the waist by pin it first to see how it looks, so it wont look empty also to cover up the line from the sewing.

Week 8 (11/06/2025):

 Today i finished my pencil skirt after alot of "struggle" which i would like to nominated my self as the master of unpicked :) cus at first since i didnt ask for ms melina's direction, i sew it but actually didnt turned out nice so i need to unpicked it all the way and then when trying to do the zipper, also same, it doesnt match between both side so i need to unpicked again but yeah i managed to finished it and i think my kebaya more looking kebaya than before (?) cuz i changed the skirt into pencil skirt.

Week 9 (18/06/2025):

Basically sinced i have done the skirt and also some of the gems, i kinda more relax to day, i just need to add more "blink" on the sleeve and donee. After a few minute i managed to finished it and i helped annisa to hand sew her flowers on the sleeve (but i forgot to took the pic of it). Also i tried to finish the 30% marker sketch.

Week 10 (25/06/2025):

Since i have done my kebaya, ella and i started to do our corset draping together. We started the task by drape each of the part of the corset using pen and also marked the pattern on each panel. After that we continued by matching the corset together to make sure each of the pattern are matched. Then, we transferred the pattern into mahjong paper by tracing it one by one.  I was planning to do the lining in the same day, but since my mom is coming and ms melina doesnt rush us to do it, so i take it easy and  planning to do it tommorow.

Week 11 (02/07/2025):

Today i continue my corset, and after cutting the calico fabric again for the outter side of the corset, today a gather all, starting from the first layer and the inner layer of it. After that i also sew the lining of it but turns out i need to cut another pattern for the facing of it so im planning to do it later. However cut the lining and sew, turns out im still a bit confuse how to gather so i will wait next week. Ms Melina also told us to cut the edge of the boning so it wont rear the lining also cut it 2 or 1,5 (?) cm shorter from the hem. She also adviced us to always sticked together with each other since next sem she wont teach us anymore.

Week 12 (09/07/2025):

Today i continued my corset and ms gave us a briefing how to do it and turns out to do corset there is 3 layer (outer,support,lining), and she also told us to read an e-book she shared since it has lots of information about it. At first it was confusing for me but then afeter her explaination and also reading the book, i slowly understand how to do it. So today i have finished to cut the layer and also put boning at the support layer. She also told us to do the corset with bra cup but since my draping has no bra cup in it, i dont need to use it but if later i want to use it i will check the book that she send.

Week 13 (16/07/2025):

Finally im done gathering all of the corset’s layers after asking for Ms Melina’s guide. However, turns out actually i still need tp pu “lidah” before i do the eyelets, but because i have already sewn the layers together, ms melina say its oke just dof forger to use it next time. Well i think there are some corsets to without it so i think it is ok. And all i have to do left is putting the eyelets and also submitting all of my task document on my times.

Week 14 (24/07/2025):

Finallyy, i have done my corset and submitted all of my task into a file that she told me to do. It is such a relief, remmbering all of the struggle i've been through and now im at the end of the semester. Looking back i felt so proud with my self cause could survive till now. Thank you Ms Melina for your help and your support.

Task 1 (angled straight Hatch): Week 1- Week 3

Week 1 (24/04/2025): 

In this first meeting with this module, JR explained us about what are the assignments that we need to do in this semester. Our first assignment is drawing editorial photography using hatching techniques. He thought us how to do the hatch and also the tricks to do it right. At first he ask us to choose 5 “Black n White Avant Garde” pics. After gathering some options, turns out sir JR choosing th other pics and actually when i tried to do it, it was kinda confusing for me to hatch since its to blurry and the picture shadow was a bit confusing for me. So I changed my picture and now its quite easier to do eventhough still need some exercise to do it right. After choosing the new one, sir JR told us to hatch half of the picture on the basic paper, and after he approve, we are able to continue it on the illustration board.

Week 2 (29/04/2025): 

In this second meeting, I continued to do the illustration hatching on the illustration board. However using drawing pen isnt easy as using pencil (for me) and i dont know why but maybe because on the illustration board i got nervous so i already try two times and made a mistake at the first part which i started from the head. After failed for few times, i decided to do it one more time but started from the darkest part which is the skirt. With ella’s advice and after trying for few times i think i kinda made it(?) just hope and pray i can finished this soon with no mistakes. JR also told me to do all of them and leave the hair for the last part since my har got texture, it has different technique.

Week 3 (06/05/2025): 

This is our 3rd week of learning fashion illustration and im almost finished with my hatching drawing (finally). Although it seems easy but it actually takes time a lot, especially the skirt part which almost took 2 days(?) cuz of the  black hatching that i need to made. Im quite satisfied with my work eventhough itis not neat enough(?) but proud of my self cuz i already redo it like more that 3 times (incluidnh the first trying sketch). Actually i finished the hatching today alao since i already ask Sir Jr about how to do it, and in this class he told us how to do the technical drawing and start to do the sample now. Currently, after few consultation with JR, we finally god the final sketch and all i left to do is drawing the back and the technical drawing but since i have done the back sketch, i just need to do the technical drawing left which still needs JR's help. He also thought us how to do technical drawing although still seems a bit complex for me. But on the next day, JR and i sit together and we discuss about my technical drawing, and the result is we have to adjust few parts oof it since my initial design got to many panels so both of us try to make it more "realistic" as we only have few weeks to sew.

Task 2 (Scribbled Technique): Week 4- Week 6

Week 4 (13/05/2025):

The next task is using scrumbling technique with colour pencils, and before sir JR start to demonstarte how to do it, he ask us to show our samples by put it all on top of the table. I have done one sample and need to finish is 2 more left this week (hopefully). After that, he starts to explain how to do it using my sketch, the thing is we need to overlapping the colours to make more realistic drawings, since using one colour only giving "block" effect to the picture and he also suggested to use Luna brand pencil colour since he thinks that fabercastle's texture its kinda waxxy, at first i dindt really believe it, but when im drawing on the actuall illustrastion board, turns out it is kinda true. On the same day, i manage to do 30% of it and got approval to do it on illustration board from JR and for me this task is quite more fun(?) than the hatching one even though its more delicate than the hatching, maybe because i love to play with colours.

Week 5 (20/05/2025):

                                             

This tuesday im focusing to start my calico, what about my illustration? so basically im doing it on the weekend full so it is almost finish. At school i begun to start cutting and sweing all of the patterns that ms melina helped me, but first i showed my pattern to sir jr by draping it to the manequin so he can see the "visual" of it. Sir Jr also suggested me to change the type of the skirt from A line to mermaid skirt but it has net layer which i will uploaded the picture as soon i finish my actual look. JR also helped me to make the pattern of the wau sillouhette for the side of the kebaya. After that, i started to sew slowly each part of the kebaya and it is almost done.

Week 6 (27/05/25):

 

Before we continue our kebaya project, he briefed us little bit by asking how is our illustration progress, since the deadline is next week. Mine is like 95 percent, just need little bit colouring and corrections to finish it. After that, we continue our project and I started to sew the second layer for my skirt which is using the net fabric. Since it is my first time using that kind of fabric, i found quite satisfied with the result even though it is not done yet. Today progress quite good cus i think my skirt is already more than half way to finished, just need to continue the last layer and put on the waist band and zipper.

                            Task 2 (Marker Pen Media): Week 7- Week 9

Week 7 (03/06/25):

Today I continued my progress by finishing my skirt (finally) and also continuing my top and since i have already sewn some part of it i just need to gather all of it together. But first i need to do my manipulation firstt which is the collar, it wasnt that hard but a bit tricky since i need to adjust the size and also positioning it at the right place so it looks synmetrical also because of the collar makes my top kinda fat (?) cus of the layers i need to sew but i mantain to do it since last semester i almost do the same thing. And when i tried to iron one of my sleeve turns out the iron give some kind of stain but thank god i can reduce the stain using somekind of “stick” that i bought from indonesia plus it can be hardly seen enough since it is closed with the collar

Week 8 (10/06/2025):

After went to gio fabric (again), i started my pencil skirt by cutting all of the pattern wih 3 different fabrics (lining, main fabric, organdy). Sir JR also (finally) demonstrated the third task which is the marker one and he explained how to colour it so it will look neat and told us how to use the grey colours to make gradient colour. After that, he draw a sketch for us as the sample one before starting the second sample using our chosen picture. It seems easy when he demonstrate it especially using marker which seems faster than using pencil colour but turns out it is also tricky and its kinda hard to maintain the colour to not to overlapped. I showed my first sample, it was ok but also not realy ok? hehehe but he told me to ceorect it by put more gradient with the blue color so it doesn't looked two toned colour. Then i continued to do the pencil skirt but because have no much time, i will continue the skirt tomorrow.

Week 9 (17/06/2025):

This week, most of us havent start the 30% test with the marker since this week all of us busy preparing for the competition, and JR take a bit easy on it since he know how busy we are. So today i continue to put gems on my kebaya, i dont know i dont really think it is looking good(?) but JR kept telling me to use it so i put it by using candle. Others also said it looks good, i dont know why im the one cant really see that. But yea i maintain to do it all and just hoping the Oppo and Unesco people adore my kebaya.

 Task 4 (Final Assement): Week 10 - Week 14

Week 10 (24/06/2025):

I didnt came to the class cause my mom was coming.

Week 11 (1/07/2025):

Today is the day for Oppo Fashion Week. My friends and i arrived at heritage valley raund almost 1 pm, then we start to preparing our kebaya by doing the  fitting to our models to make sure that our kebaya already fitting well to the models. and thank God my kebaya was ok so i didn't need to do alterations on my kebaya. and when the time has come. Its quite a relieve since one show already done, eventhough im not winning (congratulations for my friends who won) im still proud of my self.

Week 12 (08/07/2025):

In this session, i have started to use the watercolour. At first JR showed us by demonstrating how to do the water colour by using wash on wash method(?) he told us to water (not much, using brush) all over the paper and wait about 15 minutes to let the paper absorbed the water. After that slowly paint with the colour we want and then since it is liquid-dry assement, after the watercolour dried, i continue to coloured it with pencil colour. While doing the 30% test, i found out that we can ai our actually kebaya picture so i decided to do this pic only for the 30% and going to my AI kebaya as the actual one.

Week 13 (15/07/2025):

After doing the watercolor yesterday, now im starting to use the dryer media using pencil colour. However the skin looked tanner but sir jr said do the colour for the clothes first, but after continuing it, i dont know why it looks kinda wrong, so i asked JR for his opinion turns out i should like do more colour using the watercolour. So thats why im going to red since we still got time.

Week 14 (23/07/2025):

Finally after re-doing my last task for fashion illustration, im able to sumit it on time. Actually when i want to submit, i felt that there is sometnhing missing, so i end up at more colour (the same colour but making it more pop) so it is better than the before.
